Do you know why I love Alexander McQueen? I suppose it shouldn’t be too difficult to figure out. Here we have a designer that is very well-known, with several iconic pieces that are recognizable despite the many different renditions year after year. At the same time though, creative director Sarah Burton is not afraid to experiment with new designs. It is definitely something I appreciate and it makes me love this designer even more. So, of course, I was intrigued when I saw the Alexander McQueen Cage Croc Embossed Leather Shoulder Bag.
Okay, so this style isn’t exactly brand new. But it caught my eye because it is one of those styles that is a little bit different for Alexander McQueen. It is similar to other box clutches, which this designer is known for, but it is different too. Rather than having rounded edges, this one has very clean, hard lines. And, unlike other styles, this piece has a simple push closure and an optional leather shoulder strap. I really like the decorative metal straps too. They remind me of vintage luggage a little bit. There is no doubt this clutch would look great with semi-formal and formal looks. For some reason, I keep envisioning it paired with a vintage-inspired black dress.
